Annual Dinner 2014
The Annual Dinner this year was held last Saturday 27th September in the School Hall. A lovely evening with good speeches by Nick Rose and the Headmaster, culminated in the usual rousing rendition of the School Song! The group who left School 60 years ago, the group who started School 70 years ago, and those who left 20 and 25 years ago, were celebrated during the toasts, when the Headmaster takes wine with those who were at school during the time of previous Headmasters. It makes you realise the value of history and tradition!
Remember the Dinner is always held on the last Saturday of September each year, so make a date for 2015!

The Headmaster regaled the company with his memories of entering the school through the rather daunting gates, then went on to celebrate the successes of the School, both in examinations and in many other aspects of school life.
The guest speaker was Nick Rose, who told us something of his life and confessed to not being a high-flier at School: however, he put down his success in life to the start he was given at QM. Nick entered School in September 1987, completing his A-level courses in Geography, Geology and History in June 1994. Nick was a Vice Captain of School, Captain of 1st Rugby XV (regularly playing for Staffordshire and Midlands Schools teams) and played for England B team against Italy in 1992. He also played in the first cricket XI and won the School athletics cup for his age group for five consecutive years. He was also an enthusiastic member of the CCF, being 2i/c the Army Section.
Nick went on to study Business Information Management at Leeds Metropolitan University with a gap year working for M&S. Since then he met his American wife, Lacey, and they travelled the world for 6 months before moving to live in California. Nick worked for 7-Eleven for a couple of years before being enticed back to the UK. He is just finishing his employment working in sales for AB InBev for the past 8 years before starting a new job back in the Midlands as a Stores Group Director for Blakemores in Wolverhampton.
They have 2 children and live in Northamptonshire. After a serious neck injury, Nick is just starting to get back into sports, riding his bike at weekends and attempting a mini Triathlon the week before the Dinner!
