Farchynys at 50!

Farchynys, the School’s Welsh Centre, celebrated the 50 years of its link with Queen Mary’s this year!  In 1963 it was purchased by some far-sighted Old Marians, and it has been part of every schoolboy’s experience ever since.

There was a party here at School in September, when many friends and Old Marians came and celebrated with us and a tree was planted in the gardens in front of the new Collier Centre.  We also had a plaque made from slate in recognition of the event, and last weekend this was placed in the Coach House during a small gathering of local friends and supporters, along with three Headmasters:  Stuart Holtam, Keith Howard and Tim Swain.
