A good time was definitely had by all at the Annual Dinner in September. When the School Bar closed at midnight, the QMClub Bar opened in the Sports & Social Club (or cricket pavilion, to you more recent Old Marians!) until the early hours of the morning! There was an excellent meal: roast beef and all the trimmings, followed by lemon tart and cheese and biscuits – certainly value for money. Anthony Jackson (1988-95) gave us a run-down of the problems and solutions provided for travellers in London leading up to the Summer Olympics in 2012, which was extremely interesting. Then the usual traditions were upheld: toasts to all the Headmasters and those who served under them; toasts to those who died in the wars; the taking of snuff, and a rousing chorus of the School Song to end off the formal events.
