Wreath Laying - 1st July 2022

On behalf of the School and the Headmaster, I would like to thank the Old Marians that joined us for Wreath Laying at Westminster Abbey on Friday 1st July. It was a memorable day and a great honour to be a part of.

The day consisted of a ‘meet and greet’ at the Westminster Arms, following a short service at the Queen Elizabeth Chapel inside the iconic Abbey where the Wreath Laying ceremony takes place. Here we were joined by Year 7 pupils, senior pupils, and school staff for the duration of the ceremony.

This year the Wreath Laying was followed by a personal tour of the Houses of Parliament, kindly arranged by local MP, Rt Hon Valerie Vaz who is a great support to the school.

We ended the afternoon with lunch at Sanctuary House, across from the Abbey.

The tradition of Wreath Laying plays a huge part in preserving the history of the School and we hope you will continue to help us maintain these traditions by joining us next year.

For those that wish to join us for next year's Wreath Laying, you can register your interest online via the link: https://www.qmclub.org/events
